The Harpeth River is one of Nashville's true treasures.
Who among us hasn't floated down it in a canoe, ducking tree limbs and dragging our
feet through the water while someone else paddles? Now, you have an opportunity to
ensure its longevity. Shelley McBurney of Gallery One has partnered with the Harpeth River
Watershed Association to raise funds through art to protect the Harpeth. Shelley is hosting an
exhibition of mixed media work at her gallery in Belle Meade Galleria entitled
A River, inspired
from an excerpt from a well-known book,
A River Runs Through It and Other Stories, written by
Norman Maclean. A portion of proceeds from all the art sold will benefit the Harpeth River's safekeeping.
And here's a little more enticement: Shelley is also hosting an opening reception on Thursday,
December 3 for the public, from 5 to 8 p.m. So mark your calendar and prepare to be swept away
by some inspirational works. For more information, go to galleryone.biz.
